Biography

Clémence Poésy was born Clémence Guichard on November 30, 1982 to Étienne Guichard and a French teacher in the southwestern suburb of Paris. She attended La Source, a bilingual alternative school, until she was sixteen when she left to pursue a career in acting. She has studied drama at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique (CNSAD), the Atelier International de Blanche Salant et Paul Weaver, and the the University of Nanterre.

Clémence’s first acting role was given to her by her father when she was a child and she then had another role with two lines when she was fourteen. Since leaving La Source, she has appeared in a number of French film, television, and stage productions, and took on her mother’s maiden name of Poésy for her professional name. She will be appearing in Richard II and Mr. Morgan’s Last Love in 2012.

Besides being an actress, Clémence is also a model. She has been one of three spokesmodels for Chloé’s self-titled fragrance since 2007 and modeled for Gap’s 2008 Fall campaign. She is currently the spokesmodel for G-Star.
